Hi, I would like to check if purchasing a Kansai pass for Kyoto Nara Osaka would be worth it or should I just purchase the train tickets individually if the following is my itinerary (in particular day 5 to day 11):
Day 1 to 4: Hokkaido travel
Day 5: Fly from Sapporo to Osaka
Day 5: Rail from Osaka to Kyoto
Day 5 to 7: Kyoto travel
Day 8: Rail from Kyoto to Nara (1 day in Nara)
Day 9: Rail from Nara to Osaka
Day 9-11: Osaka travel
Day 12: Leave Osaka Kansai airport
Does the Kansai pass cover all the railway lines in Kyoto, Nara, and Osaka too? Also, do I have to get a JR pass for travelling around in Hokkaido?
Thank you.

You could save some money with an Icoca & Haruka discount ticket. But the savings are really from the Haruka fare.
You can see all the various Kansai regional passes here:

Maybe there is one that you'll like.
Getting a Hokkaido rail pass to pay off may be even more difficult.
You can see regular fares, routes and schedules on Hyperdia.

Under "More Options", be sure to uncheck the Nozomi box since you can't ride that train using the pass.
