Anyone know how to take Narita Express (NEX) to Shinjku? The Narita Express route splits in 2 at Shinagawa station.
One route goes to Ofuna and the other goes to Shinjuku. I checked the NEX Timetable and it shows the same train number at the same departure time for both routes. Does this mean the NEX splits in half at Shinagawa with 2 smaller trains going in both directions?

Yes, the train splits in two. The rear 6 cars (car no.7 to 12) go to Shinjuku.
Since you need a seat reservation for the NEX (with a JR Pass just show your pass at the ticket office to be given a reserved seat ticket at no extra cost), with a ticket to Shinjuku rest assured you will be assigned a seat in one of the correct cars, so you'll get where you need to go.
