Kyushu JR Pass

Hi,

I'll be traveling Japan from March 23rd to April 13th, a total of 22 days. I'll be landing in Fukuoka to spend a night and then go to Osaka and Tokyo. I'll then be back to Kyushu on April 3rd and spend rest of my time there. I'll be getting a regular JR Pass, but does that cover my travel needs in Kyushu or should I get the Kyushu pass also? I might change my travel plans in Kyushu a little depending on the suggestion.

Thank you.

  • Hi,

The ordinary JR Pass covers the whole country, and will cover you for all JR trains, including those in Kyushu too.

  • Thanks for the reply. If I buy the Kyushu JR Pass, is there one that's longer then 5 days? Does the 5 days start counting from the day I activate it or from the date I set when I buy it?

    Thank you.
  • Hi,

The Kyushu pass only comes with 5 days. It is possible to purchase more than one pass if you need it for a couple more days. The 5 days will only start once you exchange it at an exchange office in Japan.

    Kind regards,
