Our family of 4 adults will be arriving in
- Haneda, Saturday 4/4 at 6am
- 4/4 going to Kyoto right away
- 4/7 going to Takayama
- 4/9 going to Matsumoto
- 4/11 going to Yokohama
- 4/12 going to Tokyo
- 4/14 leaving via Haneda
Could you please advise if I should get a 7 day JR rail pass and then pay for the rest of the travel individually, or should I get the 14 day JR pass.

If you were to use the 7 day rail pass from the 4th, this means you would have it up until the 10th at midnight. Matsumoto to Yokohama would cost about 6,840 yen per person, and Yokohama to Tokyo only 470 yen per person. Unless you plan on doing any other long distance trips, a 7 day pass should be sufficient.
