Hi
I'm travelling to Japan in September and i'm staying for 21 days.
I plan on being based out of Osaka and we will make day trips
-we will be travelling
-osaka-Kyoto and back
-Osaka-Tokyo and back etc
Also can I use the pass on lines within Osaka?
Will it be worth it for us to buy it?
Thank you

You can use the Pass on the Osaka Loop Line, which can take you to some of the more interesting places in the city.
You don't give your full itinerary, but for what you write, you are *far* from making a 21 day pass pay off. You'd need a lot of day trips to come out ahead or a few long distance ones, and going to Tokyo as a day trip would be a terrible waste - it's 3 hours one way. At the very least, do an overnight there.
You can use this simple calculator to see if your itinerary makes a pass worth it:

Also consider getting a 7 day pass, plus some regional passes which together, could come out cheaper for you overall.
