to get a 4-day flexible pass or a 7-day pass

hi should I get a 7-day pass or a 4-day pass?
may family is going to Hokkaido with this plan:
Day 1 arrived at Chitose airport, straight to Asahikawa
Day 2 tour Furano - Biel (stay in Asahikawa)
Day 3 tour to Cha Cha world (stay in Asahikawa)
Day 4 Asahikawa to Sapporo ( Stay in Sapporo)
Day 5 tour Sapporo
Day 6 tour Noboribetsu (stay in Sapporo)
Day 7 tour Otaru (stay in Sapporo)
Day 8 Sapporo to Chitose Airport- home

please advise as we are going in mid-june.

    If you are traveling on several days, then the 7 day pass makes more sense. The 4 day pass is good for staying in various areas for a few days each.
    Hokkaido is a very beautiful island and you can escape the horrid summer heat farther south, but you are missing a number of good places in Japan.
    Akiyoshido in Yamaguchi is an amazing 300 million year old limestone tunnel that few ever go to see - it has massive caverns and an underground waterfall flowing through it - definitely worth seeing.

    Also Kyoto and Nara are both former capitals of Japan and the crown jewels of traditional culture. The Todaiji Great Buddha is like the Taj Mahal of the country and should not be missed.

    Hopefully you will make it over on your next visit.
