7D JR Pass

Hi, we're planning to travel for 9days (Osaka-Kyoto-Tokyo)

Day 1: Arrive Osaka/Kansai Airport
Day 2: Osaka
Day 3-4: Kyoto (Hotel stay still at Osaka)
Day 5: Osaka to Tokyo
Day 6-8: Tokyo
Day 9: Departure (Tokyo/Narita Airport)

Questions:
1.) Is it good/advisable to activate 7D Pass on Day 3?
2.) We have a 3 year old child travelling with us. Does she need to buy Rail Pass?
3.) Can we use the JR Pass for Narita Express going to airport?

    Hi,

Looking at your particular itinerary, it may actually be best to only purchase a Kansai pass, and then purchase a single from Osaka to Tokyo. This should work out more cost effective than a 7 day pass.

Three year olds can travel for free on the shinkansen if they are travelling on your lap, however if you want them to have their own seat you will need to pay a child fare.

If you do purchase the 7 day JR Pass, this is also valid on the Narita Express.

    Kind regards,
