Wish to travel the Alpine Route from Tokyo. Still studying how to do this trip.... your advise will greatly help! as I left not much time to plan

I can skip some part if not possible.
Question
1. is it must travel from Toyama to Shinano Omachi? or can travel from Shinano Omachi to Toyama?
2. Am getting national JR pass 7 days, does it cover this Alpine Route?
If does not cover, is there any other discount pass (ticket) to cover this entire Alpine route?
3. We have a small luggage to carry through this route, do they allow to carry up cable car, ropeway, etc? If not how?
Rough Plan:
9/11 Tokyo - Takayama (visit Shirakawa) stay a nite
10/11 Takayama (visit old town) - travel to Toyama - Alpine route
11/11 Shinano Omachi (haven't check out any interesting place to visit)
Travel to Nagano? stay a nite
Have been to Nagano
12/11 Nagano - Tokyo, pick up luggage from hotel & depart to Naritta, flight 14:55hr
Look very busy plan... need to fine tune.
