Hello: I will be arriving Osaka on March 13 and departing on March 23, 2018. I have roughly 9 days to see Japan. Here is my tentative itineraries:
Mar. 13: arriving Osaka in the evening
Mar. 14, 15, 16 : Osaka, Kobe, Himeji, Nara
Mar. 17, 18 : Kyoto and the area
Mar. 19: Nagoya
Mar 20, 21, 22 : Tokyo and back to overnight in Osaka
Mar 23: departing Osaka in the morning
Could you please advise if the 7 day rail pass will be worthwhile? Any other recommended transportation options will be much appreciated.
Thank you,

If you go to Himeji on Mar 16, and then travel to Tokyo and return to Osaka on Mar 22, you do make a 7 day pass pay off.
You can see regular fares, routes and schedules on Hyperdia.

Under "More Options", be sure to uncheck the Nozomi box since you can't ride that train using the pass.

You can look through other passes at:

But just going between Kansai cities generally doesn't make a pass worth it.
