Hello, Thank you for the amazing service of receiving our 2 week JPR vouchers. The transaction was flawless and we are even more excited.
We are traveling from Shibuya Station to Minakami Station on a Monday morning at 10:29 am. Hyperdia suggests the following:
1: Shibuya St (JR Shonan-Shinjuku Line via Yokosuka Line)
2: Shinjuku St (JR Shonan-Shinjuku Line via Utsunomiya Line) arr/departure track 4
3: Omiya St (Shinkansen Toki 319)
4: Takasaki St (JR Joetsu Line)
5: Minakami Station
My question is the transfer at Shinjuku Station. We arrive on track 4 and depart on track 4, 1 minute later. Is this a different train? Or do we stay on the same train?

The JR Shonan-Shinjuku Line actually has split at some point and goes in different directions. This is why even though you remain on platform 4, you change trains to make sure you are going via the Takasaki Line to get to Takasaki.
