Multiple JR passes for one trip?

Hi everyone,

I am travelling to Japan in November for 11 days.
As I am travelling to Hiroshima from Osaka, and then to Kyoto,Kobe, there are no passes which can fulfil my 11-days trip...
I am thinking of getting one JR WEST 7-days pass + JR Kansai 4-days pass. Is this possible?
Does JR limit the passes for each person?

Appreciate if anyone knows the answer.
Arigatou!!

Yes, you can use both. You should read all the rules and conditions to make sure they will both work for you though - look through:

It would take a *lot* of travel within Kansai to make it worth it for a JR Kansai area pass. Plan your itinerary and make sure it saves you money. You can compare regular rail fares and schedules on Hyperdia.

Himeji is worth seeing and would help justify the cost of the pass. The castle is the finest in Japan and the Kokoen Garden next to it is exquisite. Nara is also worth seeing - the Todaiji Great Buddha is one of Japan's best sights.

As a general answer to your question though, there is no limit to the number of passes you can buy - as long as the times they are active do not overlap. JR West also gives some discounts to buying the passes online before getting to Japan. That said, for some passes bought in Japan, sometimes they limit it to just one per visit (although you could buy multiples of the same pass before arriving to Japan).
