Hi there, my husband and I are visiting Japan next January, we will travel by train and I am wondering if we should make reservations for the trains we will take, is it a necessity ?
Do you have your Japan Rail Pass? With your Japan Rail Pass, you don't need the reservation of seats. Maybe in vacation season in Japan (May, July, August, December...), I recommend you to reserve your seat. If you would like to reserve your seats for bullet train, you can reserve at the ticket office where you change your voucher. You can even do it in advance.
