Can I use the JR Pass to go to Nara from Kyoto?

Hi, can I use the JR Pass from Kyoto to Nara and then back to Kyoto?

Or do I need to buy the JR Kansai Pass?

Hi,

Yes that is correct, you may use the national JR Pass for all your travels around the country.
