Visit Japan for 25 days by train

Hi,

visiting Japan with my wife from 6 April 2016 for a total of 25 days as follow,
starting and ending at Osaka. Planning to travel within Japan by train.

7 nights in osaka -3Xday trips to kyoto and kobe,

3 nights in hiroshima,

2 nights in beppu,

2 nights in kumamoto,

3 nights in kagoshima,

5 nights in fukuoka,

2 nights in osaka,

Please advise what type and combination of rail passes should we purchase?

Hi Rick

For the journeys planned it would be cheaper to purchase the 21 day JR Pass. This would cover all your journeys including the day trips to Kyoto and Kobe. You would not need to activate it until your first journey out of Osaka, and plan your itinerary so that all your travel can be covered by the 21 day JR Pass.
