  • A 14 day pass would be a terrible waste of money with the destinations you list. Even with a 7 day pass you are just borderline on breaking even.
If you expand things a bit, you could have a better experience and save money. For Kobe, you could see it for a half day and also see Himeji (which has the country's finest castle).
Get the combo ticket for Himeji Castle and the nearby beautiful Kokoen Garden and save a little money. Or you could make Himeji a full day by adding going up to Mt Shosha. Up to you.

As for Tokyo, you could spend another day on a day trip if you like - there are many good places - Nikko, Karuizawa, Sendai, Chichibu, Kamakura & Enoshima, Yokohama, etc. Tokyo has a lot of good places, but for many, 3-4 days is enough.

You can check on train info on Hyperdia - you can see regular fares, routes, and schedules.

Under "More Options", with a full JR pass, be sure to uncheck the Nozomi box since you can't ride that train using the pass.

Also, you can look at some previews of some of the best places to see in Japan on:

  • So you think Osaka ,Kobe , Nara and Kyoto I don’t need the jr pass ? Only to go from Kyoto to Tokyo and come back to Osaka ?

  • If you went Kyoto-Tokyo-Osaka by bullet train, the regular fare (adult, unreserved seat) is ¥26,700 - so you'd lose money on a 7-day pass. If you complete that and also go to KIX to leave Japan on a pass, you are about breaking even. The difference between a 14 day and 7 day pass is ¥17,280 and your travel in Kansai comes up way, way short of that.
There are other passes for the Kansai area.

But you really have to go all over to make it worthwhile. Most likely the easiest would be the Hankyu Tourist Pass although it doesn't go everywhere in your plans.
