Kansai Hiroshima Area Pass

Hi,
I'm planning to buy the Kansai Hiroshima Area Pass during my trip to Japan. May I know this Pass can be used to take any express train from Shin-Osaka station to Kanazawa and Shirakawago. Any extra charges to be paid.
Thanks.

  • Hi Adeline,

We don't actually sell the Kansai Hiroshima Area Pass, but even if we did, it doesn't cover travel to Kanazawa and Shirakawago.

A pass that does cover travel between these places is the Takayama-Hokuriku Pass: https://www.japan-rail-pass.com/pass-regional/central/takayama-hokuriku-tourist-pass

It covers the following trains/lines, as well as buses to Shirakawago:
    - JR Limited Express, Express and local trains between Kansai Airport, Osaka, Kyoto and Kanazawa
    - JR Limited Express, Express and local trains between Nagoya, Takayama and Toyama
    - Hokuriku Shinkansen line between Toyama and Kanazawa
    - Nohi Buses and Hokutetsu buses between Kanazawa, Shirakawago, and Takayama
    - Kaetsuno buses between Shirakawago, Okayama, and Shin Takaoka

The Pass is NOT valid on Kagayaki trains (Hokuriku Shinkansen line)
or on the Tokaido Shinkansen and sleeper trains.

    I hope this helps.

    Sincerely,

  • Hi,
I get the information from japan-guide.com regarding the JR Kansai Hiroshima Area Pass which cost 13,000yen for 5 days.
  • Hi Adeline,

Yes, the JR Kansai Hiroshima Pass you mention does not cover travel to Kanazawa or Shirakawago.

Using this pass you could travel as far as Tsuruga, and then have to pay the fare for travel between Tsuruga and Kanazawa, costing around 4,100 yen on the Ltd Express.

You would then have to pay to take the bus from Kanazawa to Shirakawago. More details and fares can be found here: http://www.japan-guide.com/bus/shirakawago.html

    Sincerely,
    Japan Experience
