Need help with itineraries

Hi

We will be travelling in March to Japan. We will originate in Tokyo and travel for 6 days. We want to go to Kyoto and Nara (and possibly Hiroshima as a day trip from Kyoto). Does this sound feasible or crazy rushed?

Also what would be the best way to do this and what trains should we use...we are planning on buying a JR railpass.
