Is JR covered LT express Tsugaru from Hirosaki to Akita?

Hi,
We would like to take the train from Hiroski to Kakunodate but would like to confirm if the route from Hirosaki to Akita covers by JR pass. Also, will we able to the reserved seat on April 30 for May 1 day travel since it is busy travel time.

It's unclear why you would think this train would not be covered. There are a limited number of JR trains that run on non-JR tracks and require a supplemental fee, but those are clearly listed on the official JR Pass page

As for seat reservations, you can make them up to one month in advance as long as you have your activated pass or ticket. Or for JR East trains you can do so online.

Thank you TENJIN for your confirmation. The reason that I am not sure about this train because I cannot seem to reserve the seat on line via eki-net.com. I will post on separate topic so other travelers can learn the online process booking as well.
