Seat Reservation

Hi,

When we arrive in Osaka, we will be exchanging our JR passes, can we also do advance shinkansen/limited express seat reservations? Let's say, we arrive on the night of January 25, and I want to make reservation for Jan 28 (Shin-Osaka-Nagoya), Jan 30 (Shin-Osaka - Tokyo), Feb 1 (Tokyo - Nagoya), and Feb 3 (Shinjuku to Kawaguchiko), will they accept?

Hi Rianms,

Good question. Yes, as soon as you exchange your JR Pass, you can take it to a ticket office and start making seat reservations.

You can even make reservations on days when your pass is not yet active!
For example, if you arrive in Osaka on January 23rd and exchange your pass, starting it on January 25th and going until February 7th, on January 23rd you can still make all the reservations you listed.
