will be arriving Narita June 26, 2017 5pm and leaving Narita July 4th 10am. what will be the best itinerary? Tokyo, Fuji, Kyoto, Osaka. Is Nagoya worth to spend time?
Hi, Honestly, with just 7 full days, it would probably be better to just stay in the Tokyo area, with some good day trips nearby - there are many great places. Leave Kansai for a future trip.
Thanks TENJIN. I do like to visit Kyoto Nara Kobe and Osaka at night as you have mentioned in several of your comment. I thought of 3-4 days in Tokyo area and 3-4 days in Kansai. I will extend the stay necessary. For 3-4 days Kansai, is there any pass that will bring me to Kyoto from Tokyo and the rest of Kansai for 4 days?
Hi, If you can extend your time in Japan a few days, then Kyoto/Nara etc becomes a good option. If you can leave Tokyo and return within a week, the best and fastest option is the japanican ticket. http://www.japanican.com/en/tour/detail/VJOPENTK1/ http://www.japanican.com/en/tour/detail/VJOPENTO1/ You can take the faster Nozomi train (about 30 min faster), they throw in a day of free local transport, and it is waaay cheaper than the 7 day JR Pass. It does not cover the train from Narita, nor between Kyoto, Osaka, Nara etc but overall still can come up cheaper. You can't stop off in between nor go beyond Kyoto or Osaka with it, however.
I'm travelling to Tokyo on 26 May to 4 June 2017. Spend most time in Tokyo, What is the best mode of travel. Do I need any pass? Intend to visit Hakone and visit Mt Fuji. Staying around Shinjuku area. Please advise. Thank you.
You should be aware though that you are going to Japan close to the start of the rainy season. At the very least, it will be getting very humid while you are there.

There are many places you could see. Tokyo is good for 3-4 days, then it makes sense to get out and see something else. You could try Nikko, Kamamura/Enoshima, Kusatsu, Karuizawa, Izu, and the Hitachi Seaside Park. A Tokyo Wide Pass can save you a lot of money.

Within Tokyo, a great way to save money is a 3 day subway day pass.

For the Mt Fuji area, there is Hakone and the Fuji 5 Lakes area. Some Odakyu passes can save you some money there.

Be aware also that you will be in Japan during the rainy season, and you could get hit with several days of heavy rain. At the very least, it will be very muggy and humid.

First, it's better to start a new thread and not piggyback your question on someone else's.
It's unclear if you are arriving at Narita, but the Keisei+Metro package is a quick way in with 1 or 2 days of subway travel.

The cheapest way in would be the 1000 yen bus though.

For seeing Tokyo, a good money saver is the 2 or 3 day subway pass.

Also if you do several day trips, the Tokyo Wide Pass can be a godsend.

As for the Fuji area, there is seeing Hakone, the Fuji 5 Lakes, or both. You might still be able to see the shibazakura, which is beautiful.

I suggest you look at the Odakyu Passes:

Another very beautiful place to see would be the Hitachi Seaside Park.
