Itinerary, Japan Rail Pass and sim card

Hi,

I am going to Japan in 2 - 10 February 2015. I will be in Tokyo till 5 February. Then I will go to Kyoto on 5 February in the night. Then go back to Tokyo on 8 February in the night.
Could you please give me some suggestions about what I have to do with the transportation?

Do I need to buy Rail Pass for that?

About sim card, Can I activate this sim card after I arrive in Japan?

And the last question is " Can I use airport transfer from Narita Air port to Toshi Center Hotel?

Thank you,

    Hi,

If you are only travelling to and from Tokyo to Kyoto, a return ticket will cost you roughly $235 USD. This is about the same price as a 7 day JR Pass. Unless you are travelling to other cities as well, purchasing a pass might not be the ideal solution.

For your travels around Tokyo and Kyoto you can use a Pasmo Card. It will allow you to travel on JR Lines, privately owned lines, the subway and buses. Please have a look at this section of our website for more information:

As for the sim card will be activated once you stat using it in Japan.

The Airport transfer will take you to Tokyo's major sites and hotels from the airport. If it is a smaller hotel, you may have to get off at the nearest stop. You can find a list of hotels and places the bus travels to here:

The best thing to do would be to ask at the information desk when you arrive at Narita Airport.

    Best regards,
