Hi, I have bought the Takayama hokuriku pass. Just would like to clarify:
From Nagoya to Gero:
1) can I use the pass via JR Hida? What is the duration of this journey?
Or
2) I can only use the pass on JR Tokaido line then change to JR Takayama line? What is the duration of this journey?

You need to clarify what stations you mean more. Hida is the former name of a province, so there are many station names Hida-This, Hida-That etc.
The part of the Tokaido line you can use is between Nagoya and Gifu, as well as between Kyoto and Osaka.
