Dear friends, I am travelling from Nagoya to the Kurobe Alpine in Dec 2015.
1. Can the 14 days rail pass allowed on this route?
2. Is the rail pass allowed on the Hokuriku Shinkansen Line?
3. Which is the best way to take if starts from Nagoya?
4. Which way is best to travel from the Alpine area to Kyoto?
Thank you so much for your reply. Really appreciate your assistance.

The JR Pass will cover the journey except for the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route. You can find the fares for this section on their website https://www.alpen-route.com/en/transportation/timetable-fares.
From Nagoya you would need to take the Limited Express to Matsumoto, transfer to the JR Oito Line to Shinano Omachi. This is where you can take the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route.
For the journey to Kyoto you will need to take the Horuriku Shinkansen from Toyama to Kanazawa. Then change at Kanazawa to a Limited Express train to Kyoto.
Hope that helps.

You should purchase the JR Pass will cover all the journey for the areas you are visiting. This will cover just not the Kurobe Alpine Route, you will need to purchase this separately. Hope that helps.
