hi what pass will suit us best we arrive 29th Dec spend 6 nights tokyo then travel to Hiroshima, Kyoto, Osaka, maybe hakuba, Kawasaki, Yokohama and anything in between we have time for back to Tokyo for the last 3 or 4 days.
Flying into Narita staying in Shinjuku area.

For all of those areas the only pass that would cover all these regions would be the national Japan Rail Pass. This is available for 7,14 or 21 days.
It's best to work out your itinerary first then using this website, www.hyperdia.com, see if the pass is worthwhile and cost effective for your trip.
- In search conditions, write the departure and arrival location (day and time does not really matter)
- The search will provide you the fare for this travel (check "total price" under "take time")
- Do the same for all your trips by train.
- Just compare with the price of a JRPass 7, 14 or 21 days by checking the price here : http://www.japan-rail-pass.com/jr-pass
To be sure that you can access to these trains for free with a JRPass :
- In “search details”, unclick “Nozomi, Mizuho, Hayabusa shinkansen” and “private railway”.
This should show you the trains that you can use with a JR Pass.
