I will be in Tokyo for around 9 days (29April to 8May)
I saw wonderful places like nikko, kamakura, nagoya, yokohama, hakone and fuji mountain that i want to visit.
I have visited japan twice but not in kanto region. I am not sure if getting a JR pass is needed.

If you are going to visit these areas you could cover all these areas in a regional pass called the JR East Pass. You can find more information on the JR East Pass here: https://www.japan-rail-pass.com/pass-regional/east/jr-east-pass. This pass is covered for 5 days over a fourteen day period. Hope that helps.
