Hello,
I am traveling from Haneda to Narita and pretty much mostly in Tokyo - Shinjuku, Roppongi, Toyosu, Nihonbashi, Harajuku.... can't remember where else... maybe yokohama or koto (near Toyosu). I want to use the monorail and local buses/trains. I will be there for about 6-7 days. Which pass should I get? I have read about the JR East pass and the regular JR Pass and feel more confused than ever. Can someone please give me some advice.
Thank you.

The passes you mention are for long distance travel, and would be a horrible waste of your money if you are only in the Tokyo area.
The monorail is almost exclusively used to get to/from Haneda airport.
There are a few discount tickets you can use.

For getting around Tokyo, a 48 or 72 hour subway pass would actually save you money if you go around the city.

If flying through Narita, the 1000 yen bus is a great money saver.

The alternative is using an IC card like Suica or Pasmo. There is extremely little savings in one, but they are very convenient to use and you can refill them at any station.

If you do plan on taking a day trip, there are many great places. A Tokyo Wide Pass may save you a lot.
