Hello and thank you. my wife and I are going two months (August September) to Japan. in the middle of such period, we will take a guided tour for 15 days with friends in Tokyo, Osaka and suroundings. What places do you recommend to stay just calm and relaxed without too many daily tours. Two segments OF 24 days each, before and after. thanks you for your advice. Luis

Some days may have some rain as well, so some indoor places like aquariums and museums can be good.
There are many beautiful gardens in Tokyo too.

As well as many more across Japan.

Actually though if you are already spending time in Tokyo, you don't need much time in Osaka during the day. The crown jewels of the region are Kyoto & Nara, and you should not miss them.

You can also spend a day or half-day to see Himeji, with the best surviving old castle and beautiful Kokoen Garden.

Some regional rail passes may help you save money.
