    Hello,

If you're travelling between Tokyo and Kyoto/Osaka, these are in different regions so you will need a national JR Pass, which covers travel all over Japan.

(There is also the Osaka-Tokyo Arch Pass, but it only allows you to travel an extremely indirect way between the two cities, so depending on your schedule it may well not be appropriate: https://www.japan-rail-pass.com/pass-regional/central/osaka-tokyo-hokuriku-arch-pass)

It really depends on your itinerary. The cost of a 7-day national pass is approximately the same as a round trip to Kyoto from Tokyo by Shinkansen, so you would about break even if you're making those journeys within a 7 day period. If you need a pass to cover more of your trip though (since you're there Oct 26 - Nov 10), a 14-day Pass would not pay off just for those trips.

    I hope this helps.

    HI,
You really should give your full itinerary. Going from Tokyo to Osaka/Kyoto and back still leaves you a little short and does not make a 7 day pass pay off. The Arch pass was mentioned and is a cheaper way if you want to see Kanazawa too. But the overall journey takes a couple of hours longer than the straight Tokaido Route.

If you are only going one way though, then no pass will pay off for you.
The cheapest way from Tokyo to Osaka/Kyoto and back within 7 days is the japanican ticket.

But again it depends on your full itinerary.
