I am travelling to Japan in November and just wanted some advise on which rail pass was best. My itinerary is Hiroshima, Kyoto, Nara, Hakone, Tokyo. I am undecided whether to get the 7 day pass which I could activate the day after I arrive which would then end the day I got to Tokyo and then pay as I go to get around Tokyo for the four days I have there or whether it's worth getting the 14 day pass to cover my time in Tokyo and out to Narita?
Any advice would be welcome
Thanks

As for Tokyo, if you plan a day trip somewhere like Nikko, Izu, Kusatsu, Karuizawa etc then a Tokyo Wide Pass would be the pass to get. It is good for 3 days and could also be used to take the Narita Express back to Narita.
If you don't want to do any other day trips, then just get the Tokyo subway day pass for 2 or 3 days to save some money

and if you want the cheapest way back to Narita, use the 1000 yen bus.
