Kansai Wide Area Pass

We are travelling from Koya-san to Kyoto (presumably through Namba/ Osaka).
I am considering a five days Kansai Wide Area Pass(valid for 4 days). Will this Pass allow us to travel in all modes of transports (within and around) for the next three days while in Kyoto
We are going to base ourselves in Kyoto for total 6 nights. The remaining two days we can use Kansai Area Pass to travel around. Is this feasible? Please advise. Any input will be appreciated.

It would be fairly difficult to make a Kansai Area Pass, let alone a Kansai Wide Area Pass, pay off without some long distance travel. And if you're spending 3 days in Kyoto, it'd be nearly impossible to make it worthwhile. It's only valid on JR trains, which are of limited use in Kyoto - you can take it to Arashiyama, or down to Fushimi Inari Shrine, and that's about it. If you go to Himeji for a day, then a one day pass would pay off. But you'd need more long distance travel to be worth it.
