I am travelling in Feb 2017and my trip is as follows
8/2/17 Narita airport - Tokyo (1 Night)
9/2/17 Tokyo to Liyama Nagano (Bullet train)
9/2/17 Liyama - Nozawa Onsen (Bus)
18/2/17 Nozawa Onsen - Liyama (Bus)
18/2/17 Liyama - Kanazawa - Bullet train
20/2/17 - Kanawa - Tokyo - Narita Airport - Bullet train
Can you advise which pass is best to purchase please

The full JR passes would not be cost effective for your plans. You might look at the JR East Nagano Niigata Area Pass:

which covers a lot if it, but not Kanazawa.
BTW it is not Liyama - it is Iiyama, with a capital I.
