Hi,
4 of us are flying to Osaka in 21th July for 4 days stay, visiting Kyoto & Nara on day trips. Will be traveling to Tokyo from Osaka. Will be in Tokyo (4 days) for sight seeing before traveling to Narita airport for flight home on 29/7. Will purchasing a JRP 7 day pass worth it? if not what Pass should I purchase? Thanks in advance c",)

Unfortunately, your itinerary with just a one-way trip from Kansai to Tokyo does not make a 7 day JR Pass pay off. You'd need to add more to it, such as a side trip to Hiroshima/Miyajima and back to get your money's worth.
If you are not able to do that, then a Haruka+Icoca ticket might be one way to save money.

You also might look at at a Hankyu tourist pass

For going to Tokyo, you could buy a regular fare bullet train ticket, or for less money you could fly on a low cost carrier like Jet Star, Vanilla Air, or Peach. Another option is ANA's Experience Japan fare.
Within Tokyo you might look at getting a 3 day subway day pass.

and to go to Narita, the cheapest way is the ¥1000 bus leaving from Tokyo Station or Ginza.

Alternatively, if you're willing to take a day trip from Tokyo, there is the ¥10,000 Tokyo Wide Pass which is good for 3 days, and you can use it to go to many good places, like Nikko, Karuizawa, Izu, Kusatsu, etc., and on your last day use it for the Narita Express to go to the airport.
Good luck.
