Hi,
My husband and i will be going to Japan for 12 days end of april
Day 1-6 toyko (explore toyko, day trip to nikko, mount fuji, cherry blossom in kikami, ashikaga flower park)
Day 6-11 kyoto, nara, himeji, osaka
Day 12 back to toyko to fly home
I was wondering if we should buy the 14 or 7 day pass

For Fuji, if you're going to Hakone, there is the Hakone Free Pass.

But you also might consider the Fuji 5 Lakes area and the shibazakura.

I've seen lots of cherry blossoms, but I don't recognize Kikami - and a search turned up nothing - maybe you have the name wrong?
Be aware that the end of April and first week of May is Golden Week, which is a peak holiday period. Many popular places will be very crowded. For train travel, making seat reservations would be a wise choice. With the pass they're free and can be done at any JR office even weeks in advance after you activate your pass.
The Ashikaga Flower Park will also be crowded, but it is simply magical.

For Kansai, you could also see Kobe in the evening after the temples of Kyoto close down around 5 PM.
If you're flying through Tokyo, the cheapest way in/out is the 1000 yen bus.

And if seeing Tokyo for 2-3 days, you might consider a 2 or 3 day subway pass

Otherwise, a 14 day pass would make more sense and you'd more than break even with one.
