hi, i am going to hokkaido soon, if i purchase JR hokkaido pass, can i use when going to hakodate? what is the different between JR Rail pass & JR hokkaido PAss? thanks edalyn
The difference between the passes is the JR Pass is a national pass that covers the whole country, where as the JR Hokkaido only covers this region. The national JR Pass is available for 7, 14 or 21 consecutive days. The JR Hokkaido Pass is available for 3,5 or 7 consecutive days and a 4 day flexi, which is valid for four days you choose and must be used within a 10 day period.
I am planning to go to Hokkaido for a week in November, and planning to arrive at Sapporo, travel to Asahikawa, Biei, Daisetsuzan National Park, Otaru. Do you think I should buy the JR Hokkaido Pass?

Yes you can use the JR Hokkaido to get to Hakodate, you can see a map on our website here https://www.japan-rail-pass.com/pass-regional/hokkaido/jr-hokkaido-pass.
