I've read so much conflicting information about whether the JR pass we have bought recently will be valid on the new Hokkaido Shinkansen I'd like to get a definite answer! (We bought it from this site, I can provide confirmation number if needed)
We will be travelling from Hakodate to Fukushima (changing at Sendai) on the 28th March. Only shinkansen 'Hayabusa' seem to be operating that day, and apparently we can't use the JR Pass on these - so what are we supposed to do? Or is this false information? Also this page
http://www.jreasthokkaido.com/e/index.html seems to indicate it is only valid to use a JR Pass from the 1st April?
