We arrive in Tokyo june 13th and will use our Rail pass to travel to Sapporo How long will it take can we do it in a day or need to stay somewhere on the way? i cant find information i know the new route starts March 26th.
Starting from tomorrow, the Hokkaido Shinkansen takes 4h02 ( with the fastest train) from Tokyo to Shin Hakodate. To reach Hakodate ( if you want to do a stop) there is a shuttle train service ( around 15 min).
If not, from Shin Hakodate to Sapporo there is nearly another 3h30 (12 return services).
Thank you we are now thinking to go to Akita first over night crazy but love the red train that goes there but not sure if thats to far away i got confused with Hyperdermia.Would we be better staying in Hakodate as we thought to split the trip. We will stay in Sapporo 3 or 4 days.
