Train reservations during golden week

Hi guys

I'll be in Japan during golden week. Already have my Jr rail pass. We will be traveling between Tokyo Kyoto hakone and finally the airport. Should we make reservations for all of our Shinkasen trips ahead of time? I'm assuming the earliest we can do it is the first day we arrive And activate our passes ?

You are correct - and advance reservations during a peak travel time is a very good idea.
