Is 7 day JP rail pass economical: Tokyo -> Kyoto -> Nara -> Osaka -> Hiroshima -> Fukuoka

Hi,

I'm going one way from:
1. Tokyo -> Kyoto -> Nara -> Osaka -> Hiroshima -> Fukuoka.

2. I might do a return trip to either:
Fukuoka -> Nagasaki or
Fukuoka -> Sakurajima or
Fukuoka -> Kagoshima or just stay in Fukuoka and not do the above 3 cities.

My question is, is it economical to buy a 7 day JP railpass or would it be cheaper to buy single tickets? Btw. we are 2 students, 1 retired person and 1 normal adult.

You'd certainly be getting your money's worth with an itinerary like that, and then some. But honestly, it wouldn't be doing many of the places due justice - just getting your toe in the water and then moving on to the next city.
