JR Pass or not?

Should I purchase a JR pass?
Staying in Fukuoka (7 days) and planning day trips to Beppu and Hiroshima.

Based on what you give, the full JR Pass would be a waste of money. While you'd be close to breaking even on it, you could instead get the JR Hiroshima Yamaguchi Area Pass

and they'd be considerably cheaper.
