Day 1 Osaka Day 2 Osaka to Nagoya Day 3 Nagoya to Takayama Day 4 Takayama to Shirakawa to Toyama Day 5 Toyama to Tateyama to Toyama Day 6 Toyama to Kanazawa Day 7 Kanazawa to Nagoya Day 8 Nagoya to Kansai Airport
The first thing you need to know is that there is no rail access to Shirakawago - it is bus only, and not covered under a full JR Pass. If you are flexible with the order of your schedule, there is a cheaper way you can do things. Look into getting a Takayama-Hokuriku Area Tourist Pass, which is a 5 day pass for ¥13,500 then includes the buses you'll want to take (and the bus fare would be considerable). You'll need to pay the regular rail fare for Nagoya to Kansai Int'l, but using an adult, unreserved seat ticket is ¥7610 which still makes it a lot cheaper than a full JR Pass. In total that would be six days though, not 7, however unless you have something special you want to see in Nagoya, you could pretty much skip the place since it is the most boring of all the major cities in Japan. You could use that extra day to see any number of places - Kyoto, Nara, Himeji, Koyasan, etc. You can see regular fares, routes and schedules on Hyperdia http://www.hyperdia.com if you want to check other options to see if a pass is worth it.
