Hi, I arrive Narita Dec 16, go to Osaka by train stay 4 nights near Namba area. Then go Tokyo stay 5 nights Toshima-ku area. Should I buy JR pass? Thank you.
You would make a 7-day JR Pass pay off by using it from Narita to Kansai, and back to Tokyo. You could however save more money by using the Access Narita bus for 1000 yen to Tokyo Stn, and using a japanican ticket to Kansai and back. http://accessnarita.jp/en/home/ https://bit.ly/2B4vVc5
Hi, thank you for your reply. I would like to take Shinkasen from Tokyo to Shin-Osaka on Dec 16, and then from Shin-Osaka to to Tokyo on Dec 20. Please advise which JP pass would be cheaper. Thank you.
Then if you want the cheapest way, use what I gave above - not the JR passes at all. Buy the japanican tickets instead. https://bit.ly/2B4vVc5 You can ride the Nozomi bullet trains with it, getting you there 30 minutes sooner, plus you get a free day pass for local transportation.
For the bus, as their website states, there are no advance tickets - just go to the bus stop and board. The bus just goes to either Tokyo Stn or Ginza. For the japanican tickets, they discontinued them on Nov 28th - if you already bought them, you are fine. If not, sorry, they stopped their ticket service.

Please advise which option I should book. Can please type out the names of the stations in Japanese for me to match? Thank you.
